Ian Healy, aged 68 and resident of Ballymakenny Road, Drogheda, Co Louth, received an eight and a half year prison sentence for historical sexual offences. He pleaded guilty at the start of his Central Criminal Court trial last April to 13 sample counts including indecent assault, attempted rape and rape. The offences related to the grooming and sexual abuse of two younger sisters of his girlfriend approximately 40 years ago. The first complainant named in the charges was Susan Mallon. The alleged offending occurred on dates between 1978 and 1982.
