Following US and Israel missile strikes on Iran overnight, law enforcement heightened security measures across New York City. NYPD deployed counterterrorism officers to patrol the Iranian Embassy and other sensitive locations including diplomatic missions, cultural centers, and religious institutions. The Port Authority also increased tactical patrols at airports, bus terminals, and railroads. While no specific, credible threats were immediately identified, the precautionary measures were implemented as supporters of the Iranian regime expressed anti-US rhetoric. Pro-Iranian group Kata'ib Hezbollah threatened to target US military bases in the Middle East. The public was urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to authorities.
