Robert Long, a 62-year-old man from Miller Place, was identified as the human remains found in a submerged vehicle off Cedar Beach boat ramp. Last seen on December 21, 2010, Long's case remained open for nearly 15 years. Volunteers located his 2007 PT Cruiser using sonar on June 30, leading to the discovery of his skeletal remains. The vehicle and remains were recovered by divers and confirmed by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
