Three men aged 48, 45, and 44 were arrested at addresses in west and central London on suspicion of assisting Russia's foreign intelligence service. Searches are ongoing at those addresses and another west London property. The arrests were made under section 3 of the National Security Act 2023 as part of an investigation led by counter-terrorism police into alleged offences under the act. Police are working to clamp down on an increasing number of proxies being recruited by foreign intelligence services. Those contacted or tempted to act for a foreign state face investigation, prosecution, and serious consequences.
