Woman (45) worked 'as unit' with boyfriend to shoot two men whose bodies were found on island, court told

"A 45-year-old Dublin woman worked "as a unit and as part of an agreement" with her boyfriend to shoot two men, whose bodies were found on a lake island over a decade ago, a prosecution barrister has told a murder trial."

"Opening of the trial of Ruth Lawrence at the Central Criminal Court today counsel for the State said the 12 jurors will hear evidence that the accused woman shot one of the two men but that the particular shot was not fatal and was "quickly followed up" by a shot from the defendant's boyfriend."

A 45-year-old Dublin woman is alleged to have conspired with her boyfriend to shoot two men whose bodies were discovered on a lake island more than a decade ago. The accused, named as Ruth Lawrence, faces a murder charge at the Central Criminal Court. The sequence of events alleged includes the woman firing a shot that wounded one victim but did not kill him, followed quickly by the boyfriend firing a fatal shot. Twelve jurors will consider evidence about the roles of both individuals and the circumstances of the killings.
