Brandi Rhodes and her husband Cody Rhodes welcomed their second child, a daughter named Leilani Ella Runnels, on Aug. 29. The newborn joins their four-year-old daughter Liberty. Brandi announced the birth on Instagram with a caption expressing gratitude and shared a photo of the baby’s hands. Cody acknowledged the birth by posting a photo of Liberty wearing a pink “Big Sister” hat. Cody has previously described explaining his wrestling career to Liberty by saying he pretends to be a superhero playing with friends. Brandi disclosed a prior endometriosis diagnosis and encouraged seeking the right medical professional.
Cody Rhodes, whose real name is Cody Runnels, also acknowledged the birth with a photo of Liberty on his Instagram stories, featuring her in a pink hat that says "Big Sister." Cody Rhodes has been open about sharing the details of his career with Liberty. "I wasn't thinking I had to have this conversation this early with her, but we did," he told TODAY in April, noting she was concerned after he left the ring once with a large mark on his face.
"What I have told her - and I don't know if this is the best strategy - is that I'm pretending to be a superhero and I'm playing with my friends," he continued. "So far, that works, but we'll see, because I think the moment she sees playing with my friends turn into somebody maybe beating me up, she has an adverse reaction."
Brandi Rhodes revealed Aug. 29 on Instagram that she and her Undisputed WWE Champion husband have welcomed their second child, a daughter named Leilani. The baby joins their other daughter, Liberty, 4. "Welcome to the world Leilani Ella Runnels. We are in love. Thank you God for answered prayers. Cody + Brandi + Libby + Lani = ❤️," Brandi Rhodes wrote alongside a photo of what are presumably the baby hands of Leilani.
