Brentwood City Council to discuss rejected downtown fire station next month
Briefly

After the Brentwood Planning Commission rejected a proposal for a new downtown fire station, City Councilmember Tony Oerlemans filed an appeal. He criticized the commission for focusing on minor details rather than the project's overall merits. Oerlemans expressed concerns about the lack of engagement in the review process, believing the City Council should take leads on such important community projects. He emphasized that residents should not endure prolonged delays in securing safety services and advocated for the necessity of additional fire services in Brentwood.
I felt the City Council should research it themselves and be able to make that decision. I think maybe we could ask if you (fire district) are interested in changing any of that?
As a Brentwood resident for over 20 years, I remember the obsolete Fire Station 54. Now I'm not 100% set (the fire station) has to be downtown.
