Diego Lopes is willing to accept a trilogy fight with Alexander Volkanovski if he wins their upcoming rematch. Volkanovski defeated Lopes via unanimous decision to win the featherweight title at UFC 314. The rematch is scheduled for UFC 325 on Jan. 31 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia. Many observers believe undefeated contenders Movsar Evloev and Lerone Murphy deserved the title shot over Lopes. Lopes wants a rematch with Evloev for a short-notice 2023 loss and remains open to defending the title against Murphy. Lopes (27-7) returned to the win column recently against Jean Silva after a prior five-fight streak.
