"I'm proud of my defense. She's a really tough fighter, I was expecting that, and she proved that. It was a tough fight. I'm happy with my performance, with my takedown defense. I know I have a lot to get better, but I'm really happy."
"I saw I'm taller than her, my reach was bigger so I used a lot of my jab. That was something that I really worked on at the gym, I use my jab to keep my distance. She put me on the fence a lot of times, but that was something that I was really working on, my jabs. And I saw it was working."
"I know that the champion of my division, she went to PFL, so I want a title shot if it's possible. That's what I want. Of course I want to go to the big stage, but if I have the opportunity to go to the belt of LFA, I would be really happy."
Mari Piccolo secured her second straight victory at LFA 227, defeating undefeated fighter Zoe Nowicki via unanimous decision and improving her record to 6-3 with a 5-2 mark in the LFA. Piccolo's takedown defense was a standout aspect of her performance in the competitive bout. She effectively utilized her height and reach advantages, particularly employing her jab to maintain distance and control the fight. Despite Nowicki's frequent fence pressure, Piccolo's defensive work proved effective. LFA owner Ed Soares commended her performance. With the LFA flyweight champion recently departing for the Professional Fighters League, Piccolo is now targeting a title shot at the vacant belt.
