Gable Steveson Set for Pro MMA Debut at LFA 217
Briefly

Gable Steveson will debut in professional MMA on September 12, 2025, at LFA 217. The event occurs at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Minnesota. Steveson, a heavyweight, will face Braden Petersen, who is 1-0 in MMA. After previously pursuing a WWE career under a "Next In Line" deal, Steveson's transition to MMA had been anticipated for years but delayed due to his WWE contract. Following his release from WWE in 2024, he began training with UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, reigniting his MMA aspirations.
Steveson, who in the past had pursued a career with professional wrestling's WWE, is set to appear at LFA 217 on September 12, 2025, per promotion officials.
Opposite Steveson, who will be competing as a heavyweight in the fight, will be Braden Petersen (1-0) who made his own professional debut earlier this year.
Steveson making the jump to MMA has been teased for years, but after signing with the WWE, that seemed to be on hold.
Last fall, Steveson reignited flames of a move to MMA by spending some time training with then-UFC heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones.
