Oktagon MMA Announces Drug Testing Program with WADA Standards
Oktagon MMA is implementing a new drug-testing program aligned with WADA standards and Czech Anti-Doping standards. The program was created with the Czech Anti-Doping Committee and uses sample collectors working alongside the committee. Athletes are selected for testing at the discretion of the doping control officers. The program begins on June 6 at Oktagon 89 in Slovakia, with an initial focus on stimulants and substances such as EPO that can be used shortly before a fight and clear quickly. Testing will later expand to include anabolic substances, steroids, and other doping forms. Oktagon will publish prohibited substances, testing rules, and specific penalties, starting in Bratislava and continuing in Germany.
