"I know at the weigh-in, we had some words,"
"But after that fight, I feel I'm part Mexican. That was a f---ing war, and I cannot thank Fluffy enough. He is the definition of a man. To be honest, Fluffy is the man I want to be. He's married, a father, a hard worker -- he's a better man than I could hope to be."
"If Chimaev gets off the bench, I'd like a piece,"
"You never know with that guy, but that's what I want."
Sean Strickland stopped Anthony "Fluffy" Hernandez with strikes at 2:33 of the third round, marking his first knockout in over two years. Strickland entered the bout as the No. 3 middleweight and a betting underdog against Hernandez's eight-fight win streak. Strickland employed a sharp jab and agile footwork, then hurt Hernandez with a knee to the body in the third before finishing with body shots and uppercuts. The victory served as a rebound from a criticized loss to Dricus Du Plessis in February 2025. Strickland praised Hernandez's toughness and requested a title opportunity against Khamzat Chimaev.
