Johnny Walker scored a second-round TKO over Zhang Mingyang at UFC Fight Night in Shanghai, ending Zhang's 12-fight winning streak. The 33-year-old Brazilian snapped a two-fight knockout losing streak with the comeback finish. Zhang dominated Round 1, landing heavy shots and forcing Walker to retreat, and had not been beaten since 2019. Walker targeted Zhang's calf with kicks in Round 2, collapsing the powerful striker and forcing a ground-and-pound finish at 2:37. Walker praised his kick, addressed the crowd in Chinese, and acknowledged Zhang's toughness. Walker is No. 13 in UFC rankings; Zhang sits one spot behind. Aljamain Sterling defeated Brian Ortega by unanimous decision at a 153-pound catchweight after Ortega missed weight.
"My kick is awesome, right?" Walker said.
"A tough fighter from China, a lot of straight wins," he said. "It's a really good experience to fight a guy that's very tough. You see, I'm durable. I got some punches in the face today and I keep coming, And then I got him. This is MMA. Amazing, right?"
