Google Testing New Sub/Second Menu In Search

Google has embarked on testing a new secondary menu situated below the primary search vertical options. Unlike its past implementations that utilized a bubble format, this initial trial showcases a different design that does not involve bubbles. Observed by Frank Sandtmann, screenshots shared on Mastodon revealed that selecting an option from the sub-menu triggers a new search wherein results feature a distinct blue background.
Google is currently evaluating a new sub-menu format beneath the main search options in Google Search. Unlike previous iterations, this test excludes the familiar bubble format.
When engaging with the new sub-menu, it appears that selecting an item results in initiating a fresh search, where the visual element features a blue background.
