""It's all songs and concepts we haven't been close to touch until now," he said. "The mind is wild and we have lost ourselves in the darkest woods, filled with memories, and fantasies. Forbidden thoughts that must be spoken. It would have been impossible to make this album at any other time than now. That's all we ever wanted, and I think you'll find it's all you ever wanted too.""
""In days of isolation and despair, maybe we need to be reminded that we are not alone? We are one of many. Maybe we also need a reminder that the burden is on our shoulders? To get it done, we need to do the fighting ourselves. In our shared pain, we find solidarity.""
Avatar will release their tenth studio album Don't Go in the Forest on October 31. The band released the third single, "Tonight We Must Be Warriors," following "CAPTAIN GOAT" and "In the Airwaves." The new single shifts away from earlier melodic death metal toward a Euro power metal vibe, featuring stadium-rock chants and commanding vocals from Johannes Eckerström. Eckerström frames the song around solidarity, shared pain, and personal responsibility. He describes the album as filled with material the band has never attempted, invoking wild minds, darkest woods, memories, fantasies, and forbidden thoughts. A US headlining trek begins November 5 in Phoenix through December 7 in Dallas with Alien Weaponry and Spiritworld, plus a European run in 2026 and dates supporting Metallica next summer.
