The appearance was part of a 30th anniversary celebration for the Village of Wellington near Joel's Florida property. Joel took the stage with a cane and joked, "I wasn't planning on working tonight." He performed "We Didn't Start the Fire" and "Big Shot" while his daughters Della and Remy danced on stage. Joel said his diagnosis "sounds a lot worse than what I'm feeling" and that he is working to recover. His last live show had been in February 2025.
