"The group will be hitting the stage at Rogers Stadium on Aug. 22 and 23 in Toronto later this year, which also marks their first Canadian concerts since 2018. Tuesday's tour announcement had mother-son duo Sokvin and Jordan Vann "bouncing off the walls, Vann told CBC Radio's Metro Morning. He said they had tickets to the group's last scheduled concert in 2020, which was unfortunately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic."
"Sokvin said BTS helped her overcome the loss of her brother and in accepting her Asian heritage. I was actually just telling my son, growing up, it wasn't cool to be Asian. I had an identity crisis, she said. It's just a different kind of perspective when you actually feel like you can belong. So [the band] just says [to] be yourself. That's the message."
BTS will embark on a world tour that includes two nights at Rogers Stadium in Toronto on Aug. 22 and 23, their first Canadian concerts since 2018. The tour follows the completion of mandatory South Korean military service by all seven members. Fans reacted with excitement, recalling a cancelled 2020 concert due to the COVID-19 pandemic and expressing renewed hope after the members' return. Jin completed his 18-month service in 2024. Fan Sokvin said BTS helped her overcome personal loss and embrace her Asian heritage by promoting belonging and authenticity. Presale registration ends Jan. 18; general tickets go on sale Jan. 24.
