Florence + The Machine will release the sixth studio album Everybody Scream on October 31 via Republic. The project follows 2022's Dance Fever and includes collaborations with Mitski, Aaron Dessner, and Mark Bowen. Recovery from lifesaving surgery on the Dance Fever Tour shaped the record and led to explorations of spiritual mysticism, witchcraft, and folk horror. The album examines bodily limits and themes of healing, womanhood, partnership, aging, and dying, exposing the murky in the mundane. The first single is the dramatic title track co-written with Mitski and Bowen, accompanied by a video directed by Autumn de Wilde. The tracklist has not been shared; cover art is available.
It's the follow-up to 2022's Dance Fever, and she worked on it with Mitski, Aaron Dessner of The National, and Mark Bowen of IDLES. After needing lifesaving surgery on the Dance Fever Tour, Florence's recovery took her down the path of spiritual mysticism, witchcraft and folk horror as she felt the limits of her body and explored what it means to be "healed." The album treads through womanhood, partnership, aging and dying; exposing the murky in the mundane.
She hasn't shared the tracklist yet, but you can see the cover art below. The first single is the spooky, dramatic title track, which she co-wrote with Mitski and Bowen. Watch the video, directed by Autumn de Wilde, below.
