"Grass Can Move Stones tells the story of Monkey and Good Goat, two young friends who embark on a journey of self-discovery, encountering gods, magical creatures, and dangers along the way, loosely following the narrative of the fundamental Journey To The West, written in the 16th century by Wu Cheng'en. The story also charts the career of the band, whose search for a musical home has led them through a varied and complex discography over the past twenty-five years."
"Grass Can Move Stones Part 2: Year of the Monkey is due out June 6 via the band's own Hidden World label. It follows December's Year of the Goat, which was the first installment of the 10-part finale of the whole series."
Fucked Up announces the second installment of their Zodiac series finale, Grass Can Move Stones Part 2: Year of the Monkey, releasing June 6 via Hidden World label. The project follows December's Year of the Goat and comprises a 10-part conclusion to the series. The narrative follows two young friends, Monkey and Good Goat, on a self-discovery journey encountering gods and magical creatures, loosely based on the 16th-century Journey to the West. The story parallels the band's 25-year career and musical evolution. Damian Abraham voices Monkey while Tuka Mohammed voices Good Goat, with guest appearances from musicians including John Brannon, Dan Bejar, Keith Morris, and Jacob Bannon. The first two tracks, totaling nearly an hour, showcase genre-transcending music with ambitious scope. The band has scheduled tour dates across Canada and the UK through April 2026.
