Adam Miller and Jeff Schroeder met in 2024 and formed Inner Magic, combining backgrounds in Chromatics and Smashing Pumpkins with shared influences from '80s UK indie, krautrock and the Vinnie Vincent Invasion. Their creative process mixes conversation, coffee, shared reading and musical tastes with rapid idea development that often produces spontaneous, well-aligned songs. The collaboration provided a renewed artistic chapter following Schroeder's departure from his previous band and has been described as a particularly happy musical period. Inner Magic released the debut single "Underground," a gentle dreampop track featuring Ruth Radelet on shared lead vocals, backed by a cover of Spacemen 3's "Feelin' Just Fine."
