
Rob Base, the Harlem rapper known for “It Takes Two” with DJ E-Z Rock, died at 59. His family said he passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, following a private cancer battle. “It Takes Two” was released in 1988 as a single from their debut album of the same name. The energetic track became a Top 40 hit and was certified Platinum. The song’s influence continued as it was sampled in later tracks by Snoop Dogg and Black Eyed Peas. E-Z Rock died in 2014.
