Jimmy Buffett was 'never ... depressed ever,' even at the end: family
"It is remarkable to be able to say that he remained the same during the last month of this life. His sense of humor was fully intact. God bless him for keeping himself that way."
"He was always high-spirited, fun-loving, hard working and creative,"
"We would repeat stories, and Jimmy would laugh and nod his head to let us know that he remembered. I have never seen Jimmy depressed ever. Not even at the end. We all like to joke and laugh and that was very much Jimmy."
"He seemed so forceful and energetic all his life, every minute of it, that it's hard to believe that he wouldn't have ordered death out of the room,"
Jimmy Buffett died in Sag Harbor at age 76 after a years-long battle with Merkel cell skin cancer. Family members said he remained high-spirited, fun-loving, hardworking and creative through his final month, and that his sense of humor stayed intact. His sisters shared childhood memories during his last days and noted he never appeared depressed. Buffett had planned a surprise appearance at the Telluride Film Festival for the world premiere of the documentary All That Is Sacred, which premiered hours after his death. His family announced that he passed peacefully on the night of September 1 surrounded by family and friends.
