Julio Iglesias accused of sexual assault by two female former employees

"One of the women, referred to as Rebecca to protect her identity, said that Iglesias, who was 77 at the time, would often call her to his room at the end of the working day. She said he would then penetrate her anally and vaginally with his fingers without her consent. He used me almost every night, she told elDiario.es and Univision Noticias. I felt like an object, like a slave. According to Rebecca, the assaults habitually took place in the presence and with the participation of another Iglesias employee who was her superior."

Two former employees, a domestic worker and a physical therapist, allege sexual assaults occurred in 2021 at Julio Iglesias's mansions in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. A joint investigation collected testimonies from 15 former employees who worked for the singer between the late 1990s and 2023, describing isolation, labour disputes, a strict staff hierarchy, and a tense atmosphere tied to Iglesias's short-tempered behavior. The two accusers were interviewed repeatedly over more than a year and provided consistent accounts supported by documentary evidence including photographs, call logs, WhatsApp messages, visas and medical reports. One accuser alleges repeated digital penetration and another describes unwanted kissing and breast touching; both describe insults, humiliation and constant harassment.
