Haim's latest single, "Take Me Back," explores themes of nostalgia and friendship as the band reflects on their high school experiences. Co-produced by Danielle Haim and Rostam Batmanglij, it involves collaboration with Tobias Jesso Jr. The inspiration emerged from the trio's newfound single status, leading to meaningful time spent together. The song is part of their upcoming album, 'I Quit,' which follows previous singles including "Relationships" and will be accompanied by their North American and UK tour, enhancing their follow-up to 2020's 'Women in Music Pt. III.'
Discussing the inspiration for "Take Me Back," Haim said in a press statement, "For the first time since high school, the three of us all found ourselves single. We were going out a lot; just the three of us spending quality time together. So much so that we would reminisce about living at home and all the crazy stories that happened during our teenage years."
Haim co-wrote the new song with Tobias Jesso Jr., with whom they made "Hallelujah" and "Relationships." The track also features saxophone from Henry Solomon.
