Emily Haber, known for her work with family band Laughing Pizza, has released her new EP titled 'Nostalgia'. This collection, produced by Grammy winner Daniel Dávila, presents five tracks that delve into themes of childhood memories, emotional challenges, and resilience. The title track invites listeners to reflect on the significance of small moments we cherish as we grow, while songs like "After All" and "Not the End" express the pain of relational drift and the struggle amidst turmoil. The EP's blend of acoustic and synthetic sounds captures the essence of longing and nostalgia.
The song reflects on how the small moments of childhood-playing outside, listening to your favourite song on the radio, going to camp, or inventing dances-end up being the most valuable and emotional memories we keep as we grow up.
"After All" is about the pain of watching someone you love emotionally drift away while you're still there, trying to scream to be heard.
"Not the End" talks about facing difficult moments when everything seems to be spiralling out of control. It describes that feeling of anguish, of not being able to go on, of feeling like you've reached your limit.
The EP combines acoustic textures with synthesisers that highlight the nostalgia hidden behind its words, offering a reflection on longing and the passage of time.
