Patti Smith will release a 50th-anniversary expanded edition of Horses on October 10 via Legacy Recordings, available as 2xLP or 2xCD. The original John Cale-produced album is newly remastered from the original 1/4-inch master tapes. The package includes Smith's 1975 RCA demo tape and four previously unreleased songs: 'Distant Fingers', 'The Hunter Gets Captured by The Game', and 'Snowball', plus alternate takes and outtakes. 'Snowball' features lyrics recalling past places and memories and is performed with guitarist and co-writer Lenny Kaye. A fall tour across Europe, the UK, and the US will mark the anniversary, and a new memoir, Bread of Angels, arrives November 4.
