Patti Smith is reissuing her 1975 debut album, Horses, as a newly remastered 50th-anniversary edition arriving October 10 on 2xLP and 2xCD via Legacy Recordings. The release includes alternate takes, Smith's original 1975 RCA audition tape, and four previously unreleased songs: Distant Fingers; The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game; We Three; and Snowball, which is available now. Smith published the memoir Bread of Angels last year and will tour performing Horses in full across Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States this autumn. Smith released two Soundwalk Collective albums with Philip Glass and Mulatu Astatke in 2019.

Smith published the memoir Bread of Angels last year. In the autumn, she'll embark on a string of tour dates performing Horses in its entirety across Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States. As part of the Soundwalk Collective alongside Philip Glass and Mulatu Astatke, Smith put out two albums, The Peyote Dance and Mummer Love, in 2019.
