"The surging decibels of "Glory Black" - one of the band's most discernibly riffy songs to date - serve as a proper primer for both the tour and forthcoming album, which was produced by Brad Wood at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, Washington. The front and back cover are notably adorned by paintings by the late American artist Mark Rothko, while illustrations by French artist Elodie Lesourd are featured on the inner LP sleeves and accompanying album merch."
""We opened up these giant doors and the doors to the kitchen leading out into the outside on the left and right side of the studio and just blasted their music out," Wood said, "and then set up microphones a couple hundred yards away from each other - like the world's largest stereo array of room mics." The results, he added, "sounded like a thunderstorm rumbling off in the distance.""
Sunn O))) will release a self-titled album on April 3 via Sub Pop, the duo's full-length debut for the label. The band released the album closer "Glory Black," noted as one of their most riffy songs, and announced a Spring 2026 North American tour running March 30 through April 25 across 23 headlining dates. Confirmed cities include Phoenix, Austin, Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, Columbus, Philadelphia, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Iowa City and Omaha. General ticket sales start January 16 at 10 a.m. local time through local outlets, with secondary-market purchases available via StubHub. The record was produced by Brad Wood at Bear Creek Studios and features cover paintings by Mark Rothko and inner-sleeve illustrations by Elodie Lesourd. Wood captured massive amplifier swells by opening studio doors and placing microphones hundreds of yards apart, creating a distant thunderstorm-like sound.
