Vocalist Lukas Magyar Exits Veil of Maya
"if you do, it won't be with me. I decided to part ways and focus on SIFYN."
"I had to step away and focus on other things."
"When veil comes back it will be the heavy version"
Vocalist Lukas Magyar confirmed his exit from Veil of Maya and said he decided to part ways to focus on his solo project, SIFYN. Veil of Maya entered a hiatus in September 2024 after their co-headlining spot on the 2024 Summer Slaughter Tour. Guitarist Marc Okubo began touring with Falling in Reverse, leaving the band's immediate future uncertain. Magyar removed references to Veil of Maya from his Instagram and answered followers that he had stepped away to concentrate on SIFYN. Magyar joined the band in 2014 and performed on Matriarch (2015), False Idol (2017), and [M]other (2023). Under SIFYN, he released Marionette (2022) and the 2024 single "The Best Things." Okubo posted in January 2025 that Veil of Maya will return "the heavy version," which may reference the band's earlier, pre-Magyar deathcore sound.
