Grammy-winning record producers Stargate buy a modern sanctuary in Venice
"Designed and built by Kim Gordon, the 4,300-square-foot home evokes a rural European farmhouse with its steel roofline, stone accents and wood siding. Walls of steel-framed windows underscore the barn-shaped silhouette of the exterior. Inside, open and airy living areas include a formal living room, a dining room, a center-island kitchen and a pantry/wine room."
"Hermansen and Eriksen have written and produced such hits as Wiz Khalifa's 'Black and Yellow,' Katy Perry's 'Firework' and Iggy Azalea's 'Black Widow.' They won Grammys for the Ne-Yo song 'Miss Independent' and Rihanna's 'Only Girl (In the World).'"
"At the rear of the home is a second living room, kitchen and studio-style apartment. A total of four bedrooms and 4.75 bathrooms includes a master suite with a steam room. Atop the home, a rooftop patio takes in sweeping views of the surrounding area."
Norwegian production duo Stargate, comprising Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen, acquired a 4,300-square-foot modern home in Venice for $5.25 million through an LLC that includes British producers Hugh Atkins and D-Mob. Designed by Kim Gordon, the residence combines rural European farmhouse aesthetics with contemporary elements, featuring steel-framed windows, stone accents, and wood siding. The interior includes formal living and dining areas, a center-island kitchen, wine room, and three gardens accessible through sliding glass walls. Additional amenities comprise a second living area, kitchen, studio-style apartment, four bedrooms, 4.75 bathrooms, master suite with steam room, and rooftop patio. The property sold within three weeks after listing in April.
