Paul Prier released a new video trilogy titled "Panic Peaks," featuring three tracks: "Dust," "Ease It," and "The Rush." Directed by Marc Thomas, the project visualizes Prier's concept of a man trapped in a hyperbaric capsule, symbolizing safety, denial, and disconnection from the world. Inspired by an early 1900s photograph, the trilogy examines the struggle of engaging with life's complexities through art and intimacy while confronting the fear of existence. Each part of the trilogy reflects on personal anxieties, driven by music and distinct visual storytelling.
The title Panic Peaks points directly to the psychology of the character - someone who builds an elaborate, almost ridiculous device to shield himself from panic.
Each part of the trilogy is guided by a song. The first, Dust, is about allergy, both literal and metaphorical, sealing oneself from outside threats.
