This peculiar occurrence has grabbed attention on social media, with the mural's creator, Anton Polsky, distancing himself from the incident. The memorial was erected in Zheleznogorsk, the second-largest city in the Kursk region, currently a contested area in the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Polsky reportedly 'claimed his innocence for the incident and any offence it may have caused'.
