Heartstopper star and more LGBTQ+ icons unite for Queer Health
"Queer Health 2026 comes as attitudes towards LGBTQ+ people around the world are sadly worsening. In the UK, more than a quarter of LGBTQ+ people have had a negative healthcare experience, while the number rises to more than half of trans folk. And with 22% of Gen Z identifying as LGBTQ+, the need for change has never been greater."
"The fund-raising night, at London's Battersea Arts Centre on 2 July, the Thursday before London Pride, is dedicated to improving the health and healthcare experiences of LGBTQIA+ people. Money raised on the night will go to Not A Phase and LGBT Foundation."
"They will take part in discussions which will look at four themes: 'The Beauty of Transition', 'Sexual Health, Uncensored', 'Foundations of Family', and 'Mental Resilience & Longevity'."
Queer Health 2026 is a fundraising event at London's Battersea Arts Centre on July 2, featuring prominent LGBTQ+ figures including Yasmin Finney, Dani St James, and Dr Michael Brady. The event addresses four key themes: transition, sexual health, family foundations, and mental resilience. Proceeds benefit Not A Phase and LGBT Foundation. The initiative responds to concerning healthcare disparities: over 25% of LGBTQ+ people report negative healthcare experiences, rising to over 50% for trans individuals. With 22% of Gen Z identifying as LGBTQ+, the need for improved healthcare access and experiences is urgent. Tickets become available February 28 through wearequeerhealth.com.
