Caragh Donley, a 65-year-old transgender woman and senior producer on The Kelly Clarkson Show, is sharing her gender transition story through her solo show, 'He Said, She Says.' Premiered during the New York City Fringe festival in April, the show features a blend of personal narrative and humor, including comparisons to Bitcoin. Collaborating with director Robert Galinsky and producer Gina Rugolo Judd, Donley aims to educate cisgender audiences about trans experiences while reassuring trans individuals that they are not alone. The show hopes to inspire a wider national tour to reach more audiences.
I have enjoyed it immensely. I want the show to inform cisgender people about trans people but also to let trans people know they're not alone.
It's surreal to be sitting there, trying to explain my entire life. It's the product of coming out at this age - apparently it's a kind of unique story.
