The WorldPride Music Festival in Washington, D.C., scheduled for June, has announced celebrated queer artists including Reneé Rapp as a headlining performer. Rapp, known for her recent single "Leave Me Alone" and acting roles in productions like Mean Girls, emphasizes the importance of pride as a celebration and a form of protest. In addition to performing at the festival, she will serve as a grand marshal for the WorldPride Parade. The festival stands not only as a musical event but also as a significant moment for LGBTQ+ culture.
"Pride is everything. It is protection, it is visibility, it is intersectional, but most importantly, it is a celebration of existence and protest," Rapp exclusively tells PRIDE.
"We're proud to spotlight Reneé and so many incredible queer artists on our main stage. This is more than a music festival. It's a movement," Resnicow says.
