A Pod Grows in Brooklyn
Briefly

Brooklyn Carreta in Southeast Portland symbolizes the evolution of food cart pods, offering a community-focused dining experience with upscale amenities. Established by Garner and Danielle Moody, it features a design that echoes the neighborhood's history, retaining a nod to the previous La Carreta restaurant. The soft opening in April attracted a steady stream of visitors, drawn to the inclusive atmosphere complete with picnic tables, a bar, a coffee shop, and a game room, highlighting the blend of comfort and fun for all ages.
The vision behind Brooklyn Carreta was to provide Southeast Portlanders with 'a nice place with a community atmosphere-where parents can relax with a beer that’s also kid-friendly.'
Brooklyn Carreta's clever triangular design matches the shape of the lot that was formerly home to the eye-popping yellow paint job of family Mexican restaurant La Carreta.
