Hank Azaria, at 60, has formed a Bruce Springsteen cover band, the EZ Street Band, to celebrate turning 60 and champion social justice. During an interview on "Today," Azaria shared that Springsteen is aware of the band and even engaged with him personally. The band's profits benefit Azaria and his wife’s charity, Four Through Nine Foundation. Azaria's love for Springsteen stems from his Queens upbringing, and he humorously recounted how he threw a 'reverse surprise party' to unveil his role as the frontman, raising funds for a good cause in the process.
I started the cover band last year when I felt a certain way about turning 60. To cheer myself up, I said I’m gonna throw a reverse surprise party.
All the money we raise goes to our charity, which is focused on social justice themes. We play for the kids and we have a lot of fun.
