Stevie Nicks has announced she is working on a new album, her first since 2009, revealed during her induction into the Pollstar Hall Of Fame. The album, which she calls "the ghost record," emerged during her 92-day stay in a hotel due to the Los Angeles wildfires. Nicks emphasizes that this album will consist of autobiographical songs, reflecting real stories rather than ambiguous themes. Inspired by Prince's comment about needing authenticity in her art, Nicks has created seven personal tracks focusing on vivid memories and significant relationships in her life.
"I'm actually making a record right now," Nicks told the crowd, explaining that she calls it "the ghost record" on account of it coming together impromptu in the wake of the Los Angeles wildfires.
"I have seven songs, and they are autobiographical, real stories where I'm not pulling any punches for probably the first time in my life," she said. "They are not airy-fairy songs that you are wondering who they're about but you don't really get it. They're real stories of memories of mine, of fantastic men."
