The Chicks announced a 20th anniversary tour celebrating Taking the Long Way, their farewell album as the Dixie Chicks. The album included “Not Ready to Make Nice” and was recorded after backlash to Natalie Maines’ comments criticizing the Bush administration and the Iraq War. The group did not return to the studio for 14 years, until their 2020 comeback, Gaslighter. The tour includes 16 dates in 10 cities, starting September 30 in Detroit and ending November 1 and 2 in Hollywood. Stops include Chicago, New York, Nashville, Seattle, and San Francisco, plus three dates in Texas. Presales begin for registered fans on June 3, with public on-sale on June 4 via Ticketmaster.
