This summer, the High Line park is hosting 'Nature in the City,' a celebration focused on urban ecology. From June 4, visitors can enjoy educational signage, expert-led tours, and a large mural showcasing city gardening's vital role in creating a greener New York. The initiative features a 108-foot mural, additional informative signs about native species, and interactive programming suitable for all levels of gardening enthusiasts. It's aimed at promoting ecological awareness and appreciation for urban green spaces as important ecosystems for wildlife and residents alike.
"Green spaces like the High Line make New York a better place to live, not just for people but for birds, bees and wildlife, too."
"An ecologically informed approach transforms a garden from a static display into a vibrant, living system that supports our urban environment."
