This popular midtown rooftop bar just transformed into an immersive playground with retro charm
Magic Hour Rooftop at the Moxy Times Square is launching Camp Magic Hour, transforming the West Terrace into a summer camp-inspired space with skyline views of the Empire State Building. The redesign features Adirondack chairs, vintage coolers, and fire pits, plus a carousel reconfigured as a giant lifeguard tower with nautical bunting, life rings, and lifeguard chairs. Guests enter through a wall of vintage camp patches, pennants, and hats, then gather around folding camp chairs surrounding a glowing fire pit under string lights. The limited-time menu offers upscale camp classics such as wagyu and buffalo chicken Sloppy Joes, hot dogs with varied toppings, fried PB&J, gelato, and tableside s’mores kits. Cocktails include a tequila espresso martini with vanilla ice cream, a berry smash with whiskey, a lemon drop, and a boozy “Bug Juice” pouch. Families are welcome during weekend brunch, and the rooftop is available for private events.
"Magic Hour Rooftop at the Moxy Times Square is transforming into Camp Magic Hour, turning the venue's West Terrace into a summer camp-inspired playground overlooking the Empire State Building. Launching this season, the new look goes heavy on Adirondack chairs, vintage coolers and fire pits designed to channel the carefree energy of a summer not spent in a concrete jungle."
"The centerpiece is the rooftop's carousel, now reconfigured as a giant lifeguard tower complete with nautical bunting, weathered life rings and lifeguard chairs. Guests entering the space will pass a wall of vintage camp patches, pennants and hats before heading out onto the terrace, where folding camp chairs surround a glowing fire pit beneath string lights and skyline views."
"The limited-time menu includes upscale takes on camp classics, like the wagyu-beef Sloppy Joes, buffalo chicken Sloppy Joes and hot dogs topped with everything from cheese sauce and sauerkraut to caviar and sour cream. Dessert offerings include a fried PB&J, hand-dipped gelato and tableside s'mores kits."
"The cocktail list follows the same nostalgic route, featuring Happy Camper (a tequila espresso martini with vanilla bean ice cream), Camp Coolaide (a berry smash with whiskey), a Lights Out Lemon Drop, and even a boozy "Bug Juice" party pouch. And while Magic Hour is generally a 21-and-over spot, families are welcome during weekend brunch service."
