The musical presents a dystopian future where interesting elements have been flattened out. Two young rebels, Galileo and Scaramouche, take on a mission to bring music back to their world. The production is intentionally not subtle, using rock-opera nonsense as its core style. Queen’s catalog drives the show, with more than 20 songs performed, including “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Somebody to Love,” “We Are the Champions,” and “Don’t Stop Me Now.” The result is a loud, crowd-pleasing summer run that clearly embraces its own premise. Performances run until June 28 in San Jose.
