15 sets of twins are graduating from a Long Island high school
Briefly

This spring, 15 sets of fraternal twins from Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School will graduate among 447 seniors. Many of these twins have been together since kindergarten, forming a close-knit community through a 'parents of twins' club. Teachers find it manageable with only boy/girl twins primarily, resulting in few cases of mistaken identity. Some twins, like Liam and Emma Heaney, highlight the unique dynamics of their relationships, with most sharing a supportive friendship, even as they prepare to head off to different colleges.
"Most, if not all, have been in the district since kindergarten," says Timothy Lamb, the school's assistant principal. "Many met as infants because the parents joined a 'parents of twins' group. They're all very friendly with each other."
Meredith Brake is the mom of twins Emily, a basketball and flag football player attending the University of Georgia in the fall, and Amanda, who does volleyball and track. She says, 'It was a great place to know you weren't alone in this journey.'
Emma says, 'We don't really talk in class ...' and in classic twin fashion, Liam picks up the end of her sentence, 'Because we talk so much out of class.'
Emma suspects that it might be 'weird' for her parents to have their kids be in different places, 'but I think it will be good for us to be on our own.'
