Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) publicly advised parents against taking their children to Mexico for Spring Break, citing rampant violence and drug cartels as significant risks. She expressed a personal disinclination to visit Mexico herself, attributing this to the country's deteriorating safety conditions, which have grown increasingly severe over recent years. Luna's remarks were made during an appearance on Real America's Voice, where she referenced comparisons to El Salvador's improving safety under President Bukele as a potential model for Mexico. She reminisced about safer family visits in the past, highlighting a stark contrast with current conditions.
The last couple of years have been some of the bloodiest ever reported. You'll see actually in a lot of these tourist destinations, you know, young people.
I would encourage Americans, until they get their cartel situation under their control, don't send your kids. That's probably the worst thing that you can do.
