In October 2024, Bekim Fiseku was involved in a police chase after being suspected of burglary. During the chase, he ran a red light and struck Amanda Servedio, a 36-year-old woman riding her bicycle, resulting in her death. Fiseku has been indicted on multiple charges, including murder and manslaughter, for his involvement in both the fatal incident and the prior police chase, which left two officers injured. He is currently being held without bail following his arraignment.
On the night of Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, police responded to a burglary call in Astoria, where Fiseku, the driver, fled and injured two officers before fatally hitting Servedio.
Fiseku was indicted on multiple serious charges, including murder and manslaughter, after allegedly leading a dangerous police chase that ended in tragedy.
