Briefly

Recently, ICE agents have escalated their tactics by conducting sting operations at immigration courts in Manhattan, targeting migrants attending court sessions. These agents, dressed in plain clothes, have reportedly staked out locations with lists of names and photographs. This approach allows for the rapid arrest and deportation of individuals after judges drop immigration cases. Critics, including politicians, have condemned these actions as aggressive and reminiscent of authoritarian practices, particularly in light of the first detention of a public school student in this manner.
This is Gestapo-like behavior where plain-clothed officers, wearing masks, are terrorizing immigrants who are doing the right thing by going to court.
The sting operations are part of a new tactic ICE has adopted, in which federal lawyers encourage judges to drop immigration cases for immediate arrest.
