"Our new headquarters will be more than just a building - it will be a place for our colleagues to feel energised, inspired, and proud - a home for innovation, interaction, and growth. We're excited to work with our partners and local leaders to shape this exciting new era for American Express and Lower Manhattan."
"Following a design that was leaked in 2022, new images show a stepped supertall skyscraper that will reach 1,226 feet (373 metres) at 55 storeys. Terraces are peppered along the tower's body, while images show a triple-height lobby."
"It will span more than nearly two million square feet (185,806 square metres), with the capacity to host 10,000 workers and be singularly dedicated to American Express offices. According to American Express, the building will contain fully-electric, energy-efficient systems in the pursuit of LEED certification."
Two World Trade Center, designed by Foster + Partners for developer Silverstein Properties, will be a 55-story, 1,226-foot supertall skyscraper dedicated entirely to American Express headquarters. The stepped tower features terraces throughout its facade and a triple-height lobby, spanning nearly two million square feet with capacity for 10,000 workers. Located at the corner of the World Trade Center site, the building will incorporate fully-electric, energy-efficient systems pursuing LEED certification. After nearly 20 years of development and architect changes, construction begins spring 2026 with completion targeted for 2031, finalizing the World Trade Center complex alongside the 9/11 Memorial, One through Four World Trade, the Oculus, and Perelman Arts Center.
