Permits filed for mixed-use buildings in Cypress Hills
Briefly

Developers are planning to construct two eight-story mixed-use buildings at the location of a former White Castle drive-through on Atlantic Avenue. The new construction will stand 84 feet tall and includes a total of 198 apartments averaging 632 square feet each, alongside 6,342 square feet allocated for commercial use. Notably, the development will not incorporate any accessory parking, highlighting a broader trend in urban development where housing needs are prioritized over traditional parking solutions. The project is being led by Joel Monroe from Empire Management & Construction and designed by DJLU Architect's De-Jan Lu, though a completion date has not yet been determined.
The new development at 3079 Atlantic Ave. will transform the site into two eight-story mixed-use buildings totaling 198 apartments and commercial space.
The proposal, devoid of any accessory parking, reflects a growing trend in urban areas prioritizing apartment construction over parking solutions to accommodate housing needs.
