Wing Fung Chau, a 53-year-old from Bayside, has been indicted for allegedly running a $7 million real estate fraud scheme. He is accused of forging documents to sell a Sunset Park property without the consent of his business partners. Chau, part of 37-19 Realty Inc., reportedly forged signatures and filed false records to finalize the sale. Following the closing on November 18, 2021, he transferred the sale proceeds to his accounts, withdrawing nearly all of it while failing to share with his partners. He faces significant legal charges and is held on bail.
"This defendant allegedly attempted to steal approximately $7 million using forged documents and false filings," emphasized Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez, highlighting the commitment to protect property owners from fraud.
Chau allegedly entered into unauthorized contracts, forged corporate signatures, and filed false documents to facilitate the sale of the Sunset Park property.
