Residents of an East Flatbush apartment at 1423 Nostrand Ave report worsening conditions even after new management took over, which they had hoped would improve their living environment. Continuing issues include water shortages, ignored repairs, and safety concerns, with tenants facing harassment due to unlocked entrances. The lack of direct communication with management and minimal action on numerous property violations, including a $2,500 buyout offer to tenants, highlights the challenge residents face in seeking improvements despite their frustrations and pleas for help.
"Many instances where people just come in and urinate in the hallway because the door does not lock." said Bradley.
"When I reached out to the new owners of the building and told them about the conditions, they merely gave me a buyout offer of $2,500 and asked me just to leave quietly."
The building wasn't even registered with NYC Housing Preservation and Development until a week ago, according to its records.
